coldenhove dye sublimation paper

Jetcol HTR
Jetcol HS
Jetcol OS

Jetcol OS is a completely new paper, the first in the industry that has been developed for oil and solvent based inks.

The concept of Jetcol OS is largely the same as that of Jetcol HTR regarding print quality and the scalability of the design. The difference however is that Jetcol OS is compatible with both oil based and solvent based inks. The coating is designed to receive the oil or solvent in the ink without interfering with the transfer yield. A special feature is the prevention of oil or solvent strike-through on the paper when applying large amounts of ink. The transfer yield makes a wide color gamut possible, resulting in rich and vibrant colors and a very deep saturated black. In order to take advantage of the wider color gamut we advise ensuring that correct ICC profiles are used.

Why oil and solvent based inks? The need for speed and high outputs has resulted in the use of oil or solvents as the liquid phase in the dye-sub inks. Drying of these inks is much faster than when the ink is based on water. Possibly even more important is the fact that the fibers in a paper expand when absorbing water from the ink. This process of expansion is widely known (and feared) as "cockling". Heavy cockling can lead to the collision of the print-head with the paper, often resulting in replacement of the head being required. The expansion of the paper is of course greater when the paper is wide. Therefore large format printers very often use oil or solvent based inks to overcome the expansion problems associated with water based inks.

The handling of media with a printer that is 100 inches or more in width requires a sufficiently strong paper, and at 125 g/m2 Jetcol OS provides that strength.

Benefits and features:
- High speed printing is possible
- Excellent print quality
- High transfer yield offering wide color gamut
- No strike-through of ink
- Non-cockling
- Weight: 125 g/m2, easy handling and threading
